the way in which we travel. These are some of the words we use. |
journey n. (distance covered in) travelling, usually by land,
from one place to another, often far away
They will make a journey around the world. |
travel v. make a journey,
move from one region to another.
He will travel by train.
n.travelling, especially abroad
Travel in the mountains can be slow and dangerous.
Jouney is used when you want to stress in the aspect of distance of
travelling. It functions only as a noun while travel can be used as noun and verb. |
voyage n. long journey, especially by sea or in space

trip n. (usually short) journey, especially for pleasure
a trip to the seaside, a Honeymoon trip to Venice
excursion n. short journey one made by a group of people together for pleasure
Many excursions
have been arranged by travel agents.
errand n. short journey to take a message or deliver goods
He was tired of running errands for his sister.
odyssey n. long adventurous journey
