Hello. Did you have a good time during your summer holidays?
Did you do anything fun? Did you see anything funny? Wait a minute.
Was your holiday fun or funny?
If you are having fun, you are having a good time and enjoying
yourself. A fun person is usually pleasant to be around. A fun activity keeps you interested
and you enjoy doing it. Something fun for you might not be fun for your friends.
For example:
Learning English with the English Nanny is fun. (Do you think so?)
Last Songkran was fun. I went to Pattaya and had a great time.
The movie was fun. I will recommend it to my sister.
Playing basketball with my classmates is fun.
Taking an exam is not fun at all. I never enjoy it.
If something is funny, it makes you laugh.
A funny person likes to tell jokes and makes people laugh. Sometimes you can have fun without being funny.
We like Jim Carry because he is funny. His movies are very funny too.
Paul tries to be funny by telling jokes from the
Internet, but most of the jokes he tells are not funny.
The movie was funny. I laughed all the time.
Falling in a pit is not fun, nor is it funny! (I don't enjoy it and don't laugh at me.)
George draws funny cartoons to make fun of his boss.
