We meet again to deal with some words that have similar meanings and cause confusion.
To learn them in pair may help reduce the headaches.
To remember means to keep some information in the memory.
You can remember something or someone.
You can also use the pattern remember that,
or remember doing something.
For example:
I don't remember your phone number.
He remembered that he put his keys on the table.
Very young children can remember more than what adults expect them to.
We didn't remember seeing Jane at the party last night.
To remind means to make someone remember something.
You can remind someone to do something
or remind someone of a person or a past event.
You can also use the patterns, remind someone that

or remind someone about something.
Let's look at the examples below:
Please remind me to stop by at the convenient store on the way home.
This is to remind you to bring the important document for your trip.
He reminded me of my old friend whom I haven't seen for years.
Her secretary called to remind her about the staff meeting tomorrow.
