To see have many meanings and
one of those meanings is the same as to meet.
To see, in some context can mean to meet,
but to meet is not the equivalent of to see.
To see can mean to go out with someone or to date.
It is usually used in continuous tenses.
For example:
Cindy is seeing a rock singer.
He was seeing a classmate from his old school.
Her father doesnt want her to see anyone until she graduates.
To see is a verb of perception.
To see means to use your eyes.
For example:
I saw him leaving the building.
He didnt see the other car coming.
Did you see the woman sitting over there?
Whats more, to see can mean to meet.
When to see has the same meaning as to meet, it is less formal.
For example:
You should see a doctor if you dont feel better.
Id like to meet my boss.
He is meeting with a client at the hotel.
