ข้อความข้างบนที่ยกมานั้น พี่แนทไม่ได้เขียนขึ้นมาเองหรอกนะคะ ลอกเขามาค่ะ พี่แนทไม่มีพรสวรรค์ทำให้ผู้อ่านปวดหัวได้มากขนาดนี้หรอกค่ะ
มันเป็นข้อความประโยคหนึ่งซึ่งแจกแจงวัตถุประสงของชาติต่างๆ ที่มารวมตัวกันเป็น องค์การสหประชาชาติ หรือ United Nations
ที่เราเรียกสั้นๆ ว่า U.N. ค่ะ
 จะอ่านประโยคนี้ให้เข้าใจได้ต้องมีพื้นฐานไวยากรณ์ที่แข็งแรงมาประกอบค่ะ ถ้าสังเกตดีๆ น้องๆ
จะเห็นว่า ทั้งประโยคมี parallel structure อยู่ เขาเรียงวัตถุของ U.N. ไปเรื่อยๆ โดยมีคำเชื่อมว่า and to

แยกออกมาเป็นวรรคๆ แล้วก็ยังไม่หายเวียนหัว พาราสักสองเม็ดมั้ยคะ แล้วค่อยกลับมาฟังพี่แนทอธิบายคร่าวๆ นะคะ
วัตถุประสงค์ข้อแรก และข้อสำคัญที่สุดคือการหลีกเลี่ยงการเกิดสงคราม ในช่วงไม่ถึงร้อยปีที่ผ่านมาได้เกิดสงครามที่คร่าชีวิตผู้คนทั่วโลกไปแล้วสองครั้งใหญ่ๆ
ถ้านับสงครามจิ๊บจ๊อยที่เกิดขึ้นทั้งหมด คงนับไม่ถ้วนแน่ สงครามที่ว่านี้ก็คือ สงครามโลกครั้งที่หนึ่งระหว่างปี 1914-1916 และครั้งที่สอง
ระหว่างปี 1939-1945 คงไม่มีใครอยากให้เหตุการณ์คล้ายๆ กันนี้เกิดขึ้นอีกแน่นอน
วัตถุประสงค์ข้อที่สอง คือการส่งเสริมให้มีการเคารพสิทธิมนุษยชนขั้นพื้นฐาน ให้ทุกคนมีสิทธิเท่าเทียมกัน พูดง่ายแต่ทำยากนะคะ
ประการต่อไป คือ เพื่อให้เกิดความเป็นธรรม และมีการเคารพข้อตกลงระหว่างประเทศ หรือพันธสัญญาที่มีต่อกัน
ประการที่สี่ เพื่อที่จะปรับหรือยกระดับชีวิตของคนทั่วไป ประการต่อๆ มาเหมือนมีวัตถุประสงค์คล้ายๆ กัน
กล่าวคือ เพื่อให้ทุกประเทศที่เป็นสมาชิกอยู่ด้วยกันอย่างสงบสุข ไม่มีข้อบาดหมางกัน และตกลงกันว่าจะไม่ใช้อาวุธ
หรือกำลังในการแก้ปัญหา แต่พี่แนทข้องใจอยู่ตรงวรรคที่ว่า "save in common interest" ซึ่งหมายความว่า
ยกเว้นเสียแต่ว่าการใช้กำลังทหารนั้นทำไปเพื่อผลประโยชน์ส่วนรวม ใครก็ได้อธิบายให้พี่แนทเข้าใจที การใช้กำลังทหาร
และอาวุธเข้าประหัดประหารกัน "เพื่อผลประโยชน์ส่วนรวม" นี่มันช่วยให้ไม่เกิดสงครามได้อย่างไร

ประการสุดท้ายเข้าใจง่ายหน่อย คือการส่งเสริมให้มีการใช้เครื่องจักร หรือเครื่องอำนวยความสะดวกในการผลิตสินค้า
และเป็นการพัฒนาระบบเศรษฐกิจ และคุณภาพชีวิตไปด้วยพร้อมกัน
ก่อนที่เราจะจากกันไป พี่แนทอยากจะขอบอกน้องๆ ทราบว่า ข้อความข้างต้นนี้ทั้งหมดเป็นตัวอย่างการเขียนที่แย่มาก
อย่าเลียนแบบนะคะ ประโยคยาวยืด และมีหลายไอเดียอย่างนี้ไม่เอานะคะ คนอ่านงงแย่เลย ถ้าน้องๆ
จะเขียนเรียงความหรือบทความ อยากจะให้จำไว้ว่า ประโยค คือ a unified thought unit นะคะ
เหมือนกับย่อหน้าแหละคะ ถ้าเป็นหัวข้อใหม่ ต้องขึ้นย่อหน้าใหม่นะคะ แล้วพบกันอาทิตย์หน้าค่ะ
