I went to Paris for a holiday. It's a beautifully laid-out city. Everywhere you look, something pretty will hit your eyes.
It's more spacious than London and more impressive overground. However, their underground system, the metro,
isn't so great. It's filthy and smelly. It looks like a setting from a gangster film. The route is also confusing
and almost incomprehensible when you want to make a transfer to another line. We took the metro a few times and we
had to check the map every time we saw one just to make sure. I didn't think much of the London underground
when I first got here or shall I say until I went to France. Compared to the Metro, the tube is a work of a genius.
You can take any line and change to another line easily. Lines are connected and the map depicts the actual locations the stations. |

ฉันไปเที่ยวปารีสในช่วงวันหยุด ปารีสเป็นเมืองที่มีผังเมืองสวยมาก ไม่ว่าจะมองไปทางไหนก็สวยไปหมด ดูกว้างขวางกว่าลอนดอน
และวิวบนดินนั้นน่าประทับใจมากกว่ามาก แต่ระบบรถไฟใต้ดินหรือที่เรียกว่าเมโทรนั้นไม่ค่อยดีนัก มันสกปรกและเหม็นมากด้วย
มันเหมือนกับฉากในหนังเจ้าพ่อมาเฟียอะไรทำนองนั้น สายที่รถไฟวิ่งก็น่างุนงง โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งตอนที่ต้องการจะเปลี่ยนสาย
เรานั่งรถเมโทรสองสามครั้ง แต่ทุกครั้งก็ต้องเช็ดแผนที่เดินรถทุกที่ที่เราเห็นรถเพื่อให้แน่ใจ ฉันไม่ได้ใส่ใจรถไฟใต้ดินของลอนดอนนัก
จนกระทั่งได้มาปารีสนี่หล่ะ เมื่อเทียบกับเมโทรแล้ว รถไฟใต้ดินใจลอนดอนเป็นงานของอัจฉริยะไปเลย
จะนั่งสายไหนก็ได้แล้วไปเปลี่ยนเส้นทางได้อย่างง่ายดาย แต่จะเส้นต่อกันและแผนที่ก็ดูเข้าใจง่าย เหมือนกับสถานที่จริง |

The food was great. We stuffed our fat faces with lots of authentic French cuisine. No complaint about that.
The only complaint would be that we should have more time and stomach to eat more. We didn't have time and
guts to visit any patisserie at all, which was a pity. Restaurants' names are odd. We ate in 'le chain qui fume' (the dog that smokes)
and 'le chat qui peche' (the cat that fishes). We were looking for 'the fish that flies' but didn't find one. |

อาหารเยี่ยมมาก เรากินอาหารฝรั่งเศสแท้ๆ กันหน้าบานเลย ไม่ได้บ่นนะ จะเสียก็แต่ว่าเรามีเวลาและท้องไม่พอที่จะตุนอาหารเพิ่ม
เราไม่มีเวลาไปร้านขนมปังเลย ซึ่งน่าเสียดายมาก ชื่อร้านอาหารที่นี่ก็ประหลาด เรากินข้าวที่ร้าน 'le chain qui fume'
ซึ่งแปลว่าหมาที่สูบบุหรี่ และร้าน 'le chat qui peche' แมวตกปลา เราหาร้านที่ชื่อว่าปลาบินได้แต่ไม่ยักกะเจอ |

We didn't do much tourist stuff. We went to the Eiffel Tower every day to find out that there was a long long queue and that it was
closed early on that day. We walked along the Champs E'Lysee at night and day. We went on a big wheel to see Paris'
impressive scenery at night. We did a lot of promenade. In fact, we spent most of our time walking. I could not tell you how
far we walked. On the first night, we walked from our hotel to the Eiffel Tower and from there along the river to Champs E'lysee
and down to the big wheel which is at the other end of the street. We also walked back to the hotel from there. On the second day,
we dreaded walking so we took the Metro to Notre Dame. Then we walked on from there along Rue de Revoli, shopping and to
the Louvre and along the river once again to the Eiffel Tower then back to the hotel. Believe me it was very far. But we did not just walk.
We stopped to look in shops and get some food.

เราไม่ได้เที่ยวตามประสานักท่องเที่ยวเท่าไหร่ เราไปหอไอเฟลทุกวัน แต่เห็นว่าคิวยาวทุกวัน หรือไม่ก็ปิดเร็ว
เราเดินไปตามถนนชองเซลิเซ่ยามกลางคืน เรานั่งชิงช้าสวรรค์ชมวิวเมืองปารีส ยามค่ำคืน เราเดินแล้วก็เดิน เดินตลอดทัวร์
ฉันบอกไม่ได้ว่าเราเดินไกลขนาดไหน คืนแรก เราเดินจากโรงแรมไปหอไอเฟล และจากนั้นเดินเลียบแม่น้ำไปชองเซลิเซ่
และชิงช้าสวรรค์ ซึ่งอยู่สุดถนนสายยาวอีกด้านหนึ่ง แล้วก็เดินกลับโรงแรม วันที่สองเราเข็ดการเดิน เราจึงนั่งรถเมโทรไปโนทเทรอร์ดาม
แล้วเดินไปถนน เรโวลิ ซึ่งเป็นย่านชอปปิ้ง แล้วก็ไปลูฟ และเดินเลียบแม่น้ำไปหอไอเฟลอีกที แล้วก็กลับโรงแรม เชื่อเถอะว่าไกลมาก
แต่เราไม่ได้เดินอย่างเดียว เราแวะดูของตามร้านแล้วก็หาของกินด้วย |
