Bank holidays in England are similar to Songkran and New Year in Bangkok.
People have a long weekend, and everybody wants to be off somewhere.
The last bank holiday we had was in the beginning of May. Now it's the Queen
Golden Jubilee weekend, the first weekend of June. |

I never like Songkran or New Year, so there is no reason for me to like bank holidays.
I dislike it for the same reason: everybody wants to do the same thing at the same time.
Traffic will be bad. Restaurants will be packed. And I will have to stay home for a
change and wait until mad crowds satisfy themselves and go away. |

In England, only old people are royalists. The rest of the country just enjoys the gossips
and the income from tourism. The royal family is not well respected here and nobody cares.
This is stating the obvious, but some of you might not know and will be shocked to
hear the British royal family criticized. |

ในอังกฤษ มีแต่คนเกษียณอายุเท่านั้นที่นิยมราชวงศ์ คนอื่นๆ
ในประเทศได้แต่เม้ากันมันปากกับชอบใจที่ราชวงศ์เป็นเครื่องหมายการค้า
นำเงินเข้าประเทศจากนักท่องเที่ยว ราชวงศ์ไม่เป็นที่เคารพรัก และไม่มีใครใส่ใจ

The weekend is supposed to be colorful with dinner parties at the palace.
Twenty thousand people are randomly invited. It sounds really good, and there is
supposed to be a concert sometime somewhere. I would say that it is not as
huge as our king's anniversary since many British subjects couldn't care less. |

สุดสัปดาห์นี้ดูเหมือนว่าจะมีสีสันพอสมควร มีงานเลี้ยงอาหารค่ำในพระราชวัง
คนสองหมื่นคนได้รับบัตรเชิญจากทั่วทุกสารทิศให้มาร่วมงาน ฟังดูน่าสนุก
และคงจะมีคอนเสิร์ตใหญ่ที่ไหนสักแห่งหนึ่ง ฉันบอกได้ว่าไม่ใหญ่โตเหมือนงานฉลองในหลวงครองราชย์หรอก
