The other day while I was walking around in East London, I saw two seriously religious
Muslim women. I mean they are covered from head to toes, leaving just the eyes.
There are many Asians in East London, especially Indians and Middle East Muslims. Many of
them are still tradition in keeping their ways of life. Anyhow, these two women I
saw were taking each other's photos on the road. I find it very weird since, like I said,
they were covered in black. What would they want their pictures? And how can they tell
which is which? To me, both of them look alike, and if they just want a picture of the road,
then just take the road. I know I am not expressing my surprise very well, but I
hope you get the picture. |

เมื่อวันก่อน ตอนที่ฉันเดินไปแถวลอนดอนตะวันออก ฉันเห็นผู้หญิงมุสลิมที่ท่าทางเคร่งศาสนาจัด
ฉันหมายความว่าเขาใส่เสื้อคลุมปิดหน้าตาตั้งแต่หัวจรดปลายเท้า เห็นแต่ลูกกะตา
อย่างลอนดอนตะวันออกเป็นย่านของคนเอเชีย โดยเฉพาะพวกคนอินเดีย หรืออิสลามที่มาจากเอเชียตะวันออก
คนพวกนี้ส่วนใหญ่จะยังคงวิถีชีวิตเดิมๆ อยู่ตามประเพณีของตน เอาเถอะ กลับมาที่ผู้หญิงสองคนที่ฉันเห็น

Seeing them, I was curious to be in a Muslim home. But I don't think they will accept me
if they are very serious. I wonder what their education system is like since they are not
allowed images of God's creatures. For instance, in their homes, they are not allowed to
put pictures of scenery or animals up on the walls, or any other decoration. In that case,
I imagine, they don't have picture books. And I wonder how you learn about something, which
doesn't exist in your culture. For example, how would you know what whales look like without a
picture? You will have to go to their habitat, and how much chance do you have to see a whale?
I can be wrong, and I hope I'm wrong about their culture and education. |

พอเห็นคนพวกนี้ ฉันก็นึกสงสัยว่าในบ้านของชาวมุสลิมจริง ๆ แล้วเป็นอย่างไร
ฉันคิดว่าเขาคงไม่ยอมให้ฉันเข้าไปดูหรอกหากว่าเขาเชื่อมั่นในศาสนาเขาอย่างเคร่งครัด
ฉันสงสัยว่าระบบการศึกษาของเขาเป็นอย่างไร เพราะว่าเขาไม่อนุญาตให้มีภาพเหมือนของสิ่งที่พระเจ้าสรรสร้างมา

สิ่งที่ไม่มีในวัฒนธรรมของเขา เช่นเขาจะรู้จักปลาวาฬได้อย่างไรถ้าไม่ดูจากรูป เขาก็ต้องไปยังแหล่งที่อยู่จริงของมัน
และจะมีโอกาสมากแค่ไหนที่จะได้เห็นปลาวาฬตัวจริง ฉันอาจจะคิดผิดก็ได้
และฉันหวังว่าฉันผิดเกี่ยวกับวัฒนธรรม และการศึกษาของเขา |
