My dog followed my Dad and my niece
to Wong Wien Yai. I bet you can guess the
rest of the story. I was not there, but I'm sure
there must be a big crowd. My dog is scared
of fireworks. He got panicky and ran away.
He is not home right now. My dad went out to
look for him. My mom was upset. My niece
wouldn't stop crying. I couldn't help worrying.
I'm afraid he might get run over by cars, bitten
by other dogs or chased away by some
canine-hostile people. My dad is real positive
about this. He said the dog might get scared
and hide out somewhere. Once things got
quiet down, he would come home.
Bullshit!--Excuse my French. I wish what my
dad said was true and I'm dying to believe him.
This is MY dog you are talking about. There's
nothing I can do. I hope he comes back soon.

หมาฉันตามพ่อกับหลานฉันไปวงเวียนใหญ่ ฉันเชื่อว่าเธอ
คงจะเดาเรื่องที่เหลือได้เอง แต่ฉันไม่ได้อยู่ในเหตุการณ์
แต่มั่นใจว่าต้องมีคนมากเป็นแน่ หมาฉันกลัวดอกไม้ไฟ
มันคงตื่นตระหนกแล้ววิ่งหนีไปที่ไหนสักแห่ง ตอนนี้ก็ยัง
ไม่กลับบ้านเลย พ่อฉันออกไปตามหาแล้ว แม่ฉันโมโห
มาก หลานก็ร้องไห้ไม่หยุด ฉันเองก็อดเป็นห่วงไม่ได้ ฉัน
เกรงว่ามันจะถูกรถทับ หมาตัวอื่นกัด หรือโดนคนใจร้าย
เกลียดหมาไล่ไป พ่อฉันมองโลกในแง่ดีมาก พ่อบอกว่า
มันอาจจะกลัวแล้วแอบไปอยู่ที่ไหนสักแห่ง พอเสียงเงียบ
ลงมันก็จะกลับบ้านมาเอง แหกตากันชัดๆ ขอโทษนะที่ใช้
ภาษาถิ่น ฉันก็อยากจะให้สิ่งที่พ่อพูดเป็นความจริงหรอก
นะ ฉันอยากเชื่อจะแย่ แต่นี่มันหมาของฉันนะ ฉันไม่รู้จะ
ทำอย่างไรดี ฉันได้แต่หวังว่ามันจะกลับบ้านเร็วๆ

I respect my dog and treat him like a dog.
I don't put collar on him. I don't train him
to sit and roll and be affectionate. I don't
chain him up. This is the first time I regret
treating him with such respect. If I put collar
with a phone number on him, people who
see him might be able to call us. If he comes
back. I mean if he ever comes back. I will chain
him up and make sure my address is on the dog's collar.
