Across the street from where I live is a bar. There is some building work going on. I dont know what they are
doing, but the building is covered with scaffolding, and some people dressed like construction workers climb
up and down. The scaffolding has been there for over month, I swear. I kind of get curious at what they are
doing to the building.

ฝั่งตรงข้ามบ้านฉันเป็นบาร์แห่งหนึ่ง กำลังมีการก่อสร้างต่อเติมอาคาร ฉันไม่รู้หรอกว่าเข้าสร้าง หรือต่อเติมอะไรกัน
เห็นแต่นั่งร้านบังตึกทั้งตึก และคนแต่งตัวเหมือนจะเป็นช่างก่อสร้างปีนขึ้นปีนลง เค้าก่อนั่งร้านนี้มาเป็นเดือนแล้ว
ฉันสาบานได้ สร้างไม่เสร็จเสียที ฉันสงสัยว่าเขาทำอะไรกันในตึกฝั่งตรงข้าม

What catches my eyes the most is a big sign at the scaffolding saying 'Warning: Scaffolding electrically
protected.' Why do they need to protect the scaffolding? From what exactly? I can see why they put up the
warning: so that people who do not wish to be electrocuted will leave the scaffolding alone. Ah
h I see. They
do not try to protect the scaffolding, but the building. In case some smart-ass want an easy access into the
building when no one is working, they will be electrocuted. It is a warning for burglars. |

แต่ที่เตะตาฉันมากที่สุดก็คือป้ายขนาดใหญ่ติดอยู่กับนั่งร้าน เขียนว่า "ระวัง นั่งร้านนี้ป้องกันด้วยไฟฟ้า"
ทำไม่เขาต้องป้องกันนั่งร้านด้วยหรือ ป้องกันจากอะไร ฉันเขาใจว่าทำไม่เขาต้องทำป้ายเตือนคน
เพราะว่าคนที่ไม่อยากโดนดูดจะได้ไม่เข้าใกล้ อ๋อ
ฉันเข้าใจแล้ว เขาไม่ได้ป้องกันนั่งร้าน แต่ป้องกันตึก
หากมีเจ้าหัวใสคนใดคิดถือโอกาศปีนเข้าไปในตึกโดยให้นั่งร้านเวลาทีไม่มีใครอยู่ เจ้าหมดนั้นก็จะถูกไฟดูด
เขาเขียนไว้เตือนขโมยนี่เอง

After I have figured out the meaning of this sign, I can't help laughing at myself. However, I'm also proud that
I have an enquiring mind and am not afraid to ask questions, no matter how stupid they may sound.
