Today I eagerly awaited Simons return.
I needed to ask him many questions to bring myself up to date.
I mean I keep saying that I would find out more; I would get answers,
but not yet got around to. This time I will. |

I wanted to ask him about a pubs name, the Kings Head,
whether it was a real head. He answered with lack of enthusiasm, Yeah.
Head means head. What else do you want it to mean?.

Another issue I needed to raise with him was the flammable and inflammable issue.
But before I could open my mouth, he started criticizing me for being lazy and not looking things up myself.

A reader of my column (believe me, someone actually reads my work.) wrote to me,
though without Simons critical tone, to say that inflammable is an older word,
but the prefix in causes confusion. So the word was modernized to become flammable. See?
We dont really need the sulking Simon. But I might do when I need my laundry done. |
