I was just staying at home reading when Nin called.
She was at the Mall Ta Phra but wanted to come for
a Swensen's treat near my place before rushing
back to work at one o'clock. She had had a bad day.
Since she got up, she had met not so nice people.
It was nice of her not to share the details with me.
Nin is always like that-she knows what to say and
no to say (so unlike me). After that we went to Robinson's
and I bought a lot of things to get my life organized: diskettes,
notebooks, and plastic box folders. I haven't used
any of them yet but I already feel that my life is well organized. |

ฉันนอนอ่านหนังสืออยู่บ้านเฉยๆ ตอนที่นินโทรมา
เขาอยู่ที่เดอะมอล์ลท่าพระแต่อยากจะมากินไอติมสเวนเซ่น
แถวบ้านฉันก่อนที่จะโกยกลับไปทำงานตอนบ่ายโมง
วันนี้ของนินไม่รื่นรมย์เอาเสียเลย ตั้งแต่ตื่นขึ้นมา
เขาก็พบแต่กับคนที่ไม่น่ารัก นินน่ารักมากที่ไม่เอาเรื่องปวดหัวมาบ่นให้ฉันฟัง
นินเป็นอย่างนี้เสมอ เขารู้ว่าเรื่องไหนควรพูด
เรื่องไหนไม่ควรพูด ช่างต่างกับฉันเสียนี่กระไร
หลังจากนั้นเราก็ไปโรบินสัน ฉันซื้อของหลายอย่าง
ที่ทำให้ชีวิตฉันมีรูปแบบขึ้น เช่นแผ่นดิส สมุดโน๊ต
และแฟ้มพลาสติก ฉันยังไม่ได้ใช้ของพวกนี้หรอก
แต่รู้สึกว่าชีวิตฉันมีระเบียบขึ้นเป็นกองหลังจากซื้อมา |

This reminded me of home shopping on TV.
If you spend a few minutes to watch it,
you will notice how lazy and useless we people are.
We have invented all these gadgets to serve our needs.
They have carpet cleaner, car wax, scratch remover,
iron wire holder, magnetic broom, pet trainer,
work out machine, what else do you need?
And believe it or not, people actually buy them.
I would have been one of those people
if the prices were more reasonable. |

I had dinner with two couples.
The girls were in my German class back in college.
Suay has an American boyfriend who's just perfect.
He is young successful businessperson
living in San Francisco. He flew over for her graduation.
You can imagine the rest of the story.
Key has a German boyfriend who was our teacher.
They are great together and will soon get married.
I can never understand how you can have
a crush on your teacher. It's a teacher,
for crying out loud. Teachers are not human.
They give you homework. They make
you work hard on weekends. They criticize
you in front of the whole class. They never
think you are good enough. Let's not forget
that dating them is not the way to get your revenge.
My revenge is to become a teacher and teach their kids.
Then their kids and be my kids' teachers and so on and so forth. |

ฉันไปทานข้ากับคนสองคู่ ฝ่ายหญิงเป็นรุ่นน้องที่เรียนเยอรมันมาด้วยกัน
สวยมีแฟนชาวอเมริกันที่เพอร์เฟคจนน่ารังเกียจ เขาเป็นนักธุรกิจหนุ่มไฟแรง
และประสบความสำเร็จอยู่ที่ซานฟรานซิสโก เขาบินมางานรับปริญญาของสวยโดยเฉพาะ

ฉันไม่มีวันเข้าใจเลยว่านักเรียนรักครูได้อย่างไร เขาเป็นครูนะให้ตายสิ
ครูไม่ใช่คนซักหน่อย ครูสั่งการบ้านเรา ครูทำให้เราต้องทำงานตอนวันหยุดจนหมดสนุก
ครูวิพากวิจารณ์เราต่อหน้าคนอื่น ครูไม่เคยคิดว่าเราดีพอ
อย่าลืมสิว่าการที่เราเดทครูไม่ใช่วิธีการแก้แค้นครูที่ดีหรอกนะ
การแก้แค้นของฉันก็คือ การเป็นครูสอนลูกของครูอีกที
ส่วนลูกครูที่เป็นลูกศิษย์เราก็มาสอนลูกเรา แล้วก็สอนแก้แค้นกันไปเรื่อยๆ |
