It's teacher's day! I bought a few
garlands for my teachers. I felt lucky
that I still get to see almost all of my
teachers every day. I don't have to
miss them. If I do, I can just walk next
door and talk to them. Today is teacher's day.
I don't need to make a trip to see them
and let them know that I appreciate them.

วันนี้เป็นวันครู ฉันซื้อพวงมาลัยมาให้ครูฉัน ฉันรู้สึกว่าตัว
เองโชคดีมากที่ยังได้พบปะกับครูของฉันอยู่เกือบทุกวัน
ฉันไม่จำเป็นต้องคิดถึงครู แต่ถ้าเกิดคิดถึงขึ้นมาก็แค่เดิน
ไปคุยกับท่านที่ห้องข้างๆ วันนี้เป็นวันครู ฉันไม่ต้อง
เดินทางไปเยี่ยมและไปบอกครูว่าฉันสำนึกถึงบูญคุณครู
อยู่มิวาย

School teachers have today off.
I wonder why. Rewarding themselves?
Am I not one of them? My mom wondered
about the same thing and I told her that
I'm not only an ajarn but also a government
official and today is not an official holiday.

อาจารย์ในโรงเรียนได้หยุดหนึ่งวัน ฉันไม่รู้เหมือนกันว่า
ทำไม เป็นรางวัลให้กับตัวเองหรือ แล้วฉันไม่ได้เป็นครู
เหมือนคนอื่นเขาหรอกหรือ ฉันจึงไม่ได้หยุดกับเขา แม่ฉัน
ก็สงสัยเหมือนกัน และฉันตอบแม่ไปว่าฉันไม่ได้เป็น
อาจารย์อย่างเดียว ฉันยังเป็นข้าราชการด้วย วันนี้ไม่ใช่
วันหยุดราชการสักหน่อย

As a teacher, what do I want?
I do not want a day off so that I miss
my students. I don't want a card
or a garland. I want a thought.
One day it can be today I want
my students to think of me and
say to themselves, "I remember
that teacher. I learned a lot in her class.
I'm here today partly because of her.
"or "She was a tough teacher.
But I wish I had listened to her.
I could have learned a lot. I also
wish she was here. I could ask her
what this word means" Whatever they
think of me, I want them to think of me
in their difficult times or good times.

ในฐานะครู ฉันต้องการอะไร ฉันไม่ได้ต้องการจะได้หยุด
วันครูให้คิดถึงลูกศิษย์เปล่าๆ ฉันไม่อยากได้การ์ด หรือ
พวงมาลัย ฉันอยากให้คนคิดถึงฉัน วันหนึ่ง อาจจะเป็น
วันนี้ก็ได้ ฉันอยากให้นักเรียนของฉันหวนนึกถึงฉันแล้ว
รำพึงกับตัวเองว่า "ฉันจำครูคนนั้นได้ เขาสอนฉันหลาย
อย่างทีเดียว ฉันมีวันนี้ได้ ส่วนหนึ่งเป็นเพราะครูคนนี้
"หรือ "เขาเป็นอาจารย์ที่ดุมาก แต่ฉันน่าจะตั้งใจเรียน
มากกว่านี้ อาจารย์น่าจะอยู่ตรงนี้ ฉันจะได้ถามศัพท์คำนี้
หน่อย" ไม่ว่าเขาจะคิดอย่างไรก็ตาม ฉันก็อยากให้พวก
เขาคิดถึงฉันในยามที่มีปัญหาหรือตอนที่เขามีความสุข
