Brent collected me from the airport. I could
not recognize his face but I knew his voice.
A rock-singer looking guy called out my
name and I heard a familiar voice. I couldn't
believe it. It's Brent. When I last saw him,
he was clean shaved with short hair. Now he
has long curly hair with a beard. The only part
visible is his dreamy eyes.

เบรนท์ไปรับฉันมาจากสนามบิน ฉันจำหน้าเขาไม่ได้เลย
แต่จำเสียงได้ นายคนที่หน้าเหมือนนักร้องฮิปปี้วงร็อค
เรียกชื่อฉัน และเสียงของเขาก็ฟังดูคุ้นๆ ชอบกล ฉันไม่
อยากจะเชื่อเลย นายเบรนท์จริงๆ ด้วย ครั้งสุดท้ายที่ฉัน
เจอเบรนท์ เขาหน้าเกลี้ยงใส และผมสั้น ตอนนี้เขาปล่อย
ผมยาวหยิกแล้วยังไว้หนวดเคราอีก เห็นแต่ตาพาฝันคู่

He came with a friend called Bay. Bay's
parents are Thai but he and his brother
were born here in Albany, California. He's
actually a white man. He speaks a little bit
of Thai with an accent. He's really cool.

เขามากับเพื่อนชื่อเบย์ พ่อแม่ของเบย์เป็นคนไทยแต่เบย์
กับพี่ชายเกิดที่นี่ในเมืองอัลบานี่ แคลิฟอร์เนียร์ เบย์เป็น
ฝรั่งไปแล้ว เขาพูดไทยได้นิดหน่อยแต่สำเนียงเพี้ยนๆ แต่
เขาน่ารักมากทีเดียว

Brent is a cool guy too. You can tell by the
relationship with his friends. He was living
in New York for 2 years. He got home two
weeks before I arrived and friends just
casually dropped by to see him.

เบรนท์ก็น่ารักเหมือนกัน บอกได้จากเพื่อนๆ ของเขา เขา
ย้ายไปอยู่ที่นิวยอร์คสองปี เขาเพิ่งกลับมาบ้านสอง
สัปดาห์ก่อนที่ฉันไปถึง เพื่อนเขาพากันมาเยี่ยมเขาหลาย
คน ไม่ได้บอกกล่าว อยู่ๆ ก็มากดกริ่งหน้าบ้านเฉยเลย

We were about to go out shopping for his
step-mom's birthday when Bay and two other
girls came by. They just came to hang out.
It doesn't sound like a big deal but it's something
none of my friends in Bangkok does.
They decided to take a walk. The girls
walked to Bay's and all of the sudden they
decided to walk to Brent's. After that, I don't
know where they took off to. It's like window
shopping, just going around the neighborhood
seeing if anyone is home.

เรากำลังจะไปซื้อของขวัญวันเกิดให้แม่เลี้ยงของเบรนท์
กันตอนที่เบย์กับเพื่อนอีกสองคนแวะมา เขามาหาเฉยๆ
ฟังดูไม่ใช่เรื่องใหญ่ แต่ไม่มีเพื่อนฉันคนไหนในกรุงเทพฯ
ทำกัน อยู่ๆ เขาก็ออกมาเดินเล่น เขาเดินไปบ้านเบย์
แล้วอยู่ ๆ เขาก็เดินมาที่บ้านเบรนท์ หลังจากนั่นฉันก็ไม่รู้
ว่าเขา "อยู่ๆ ก็" เดินไปบ้านใครอีก เหมือนเดินชอปปิ้งดู
ของเลย แค่เดินไปตามบ้านเพื่อนดูว่ามีใครอยู่บ้านบ้าง

After we got back from Brent's Dad's, a friend
called to see if he could drop by. That's more
like it. However, it's after 10 pm. We were up anyway.
So he came in. We were just catching up on
old times when his friend walked in. Tyler went to
see Max at home but Max was with us so he
came to see Max. Tyler and Brent didn't even
know each other but who cares. After that Max's
girlfriend came by and we watched a video which
Brent had made a few years ago. It was fun.
Brent is definitely crazy and that qualifies him as my friend.

หลังจากที่เรากลับมาจากบ้านพ่อของเบรนท์ มีเพื่อนโทร
มาถามว่าเขาจะแวะมาหาได้ไหม ฟังดูดีหน่อย แต่ตอน
นั้นมันเลยสี่ทุ่มแล้ว แต่เรายังตื่นอยู่ เขาเลยแวะมา เรา
ถามสาระทุกข์สุกดิบตามประสาคนไม่ได้เจอกันนาน แล้ว
เพื่อนของเขาอีกคนก็แวะมา ไทเลอร์ไปหาแมกซ์ที่บ้านแต่
แมกซ์มาอยู่กับพวกเรา เขาเลยตามมา เบรนท์กับไทเลอร์
ไม่รู้จักกันแต่ไม่เห็นจะเป็นไรเลย หลังจากนั้นแฟนของ
แมกซ์ก็แวะมา แล้วเราก็นั่งดูวีดีโอที่เบรนท์ทำขึ้นมาเมื่อ
หลายปีก่อน สนุกมากเลย นายเบรนท์นี่บ้าจริงๆ และนั่น
ทำให้เขามีคุณสมบัติพอที่จะเป็นเพื่อนฉัน
