World cup fever is universal. There is no escape. Still, I try my best. Along the road,
you can see new curtain patterns. People put up the England Flags on their doors
and windows, in their cars, on the road, everywhere. Football shirts are in fashion
as well as sportswear. People look as if they have been to the gym. |

I'm not a fan and I do not have a TV. But I can guess results from observing people
around me. Whenever there is an England match, I can tell. There is some kind
of uproar in town. People look happy for no reason. I can tell when they are pleased
with the game results, not from the constant distant yelling. Again, people look happy
for no reason. And if England has lost, I will be able to tell as well.
They will take it out on everyone I think. |
