Since my plan with Kerwyn has screwed up, I went to see a sword fighting with Jordan instead.
At first I thought that it was a show because Max and Jeff had mentioned it earlier. Most of my
friends in San Francisco are in drama and they can not act normal. Anyway, back to the sword
fighting. It was a bunch of people, grown-ups, getting together and hitting each other with bamboo
sticks. They look quite professional. They had their own sticks and arrows wrapped in foam or
sponge so that no one got seriously injured. It was fun to watch, but I dreaded joining them.
Only three people stood aside and watched. I got to know David, who was supposed to come to
Thailand last year but didn't becasue he had to go back to school early. He came with the
group to Singapore and Indonesia. |

เนื่องจากแผนที่วางไว้กับเคอร์วินเป็นอันล้มเลิกไป ฉันเลยไปดูฟันดาบกับจอร์แดนแทน
ทีแรกฉันคิดว่าเป็นการแสดง เพราะว่าแมกซ์กับเจฟเคยพูดถึง เพื่อนของฉันในซานฟรานส่วนใหญ่เป็นนักแสดง
แต่แสดงเป็นคนปรกติไม่เป็น กลับมาเรื่องฟันดาบต่อ กลายเป็นว่าคนกลุ่มหนึ่งโตๆ
กันแล้วทั้งนั้นเอาไม้ไผ่มาฟาดกันเล่น พวกเขาดูเหมือนมืออาชีพมากเลย แต่ละคนมีดาบ
หรือธนูเป็นอาวุธประจำตัวห่อด้วยฟองน้ำ หรือโฟมอย่างดีเพื่อไม่ให้เจ็บจริง
ดูคนตีกันก็สนุกดีแต่ฉันไม่ร่วมด้วยหรอก มีคนสติดีไม่เล่นอยู่สามคนเท่านี้น ฉันได้รู้จักกับเดวิด
ซึ่งน่าจะมาเมืองไทยเมื่อปีที่แล้ว แต่ไม่ได้มาเพราะต้องกลับไปเรียนหนังสือ

David is a musician. He majors in saxophone. He is very artistic and drives
a fast sport car. Michael, David and I were just standing around watching
madmen killing one another when David suggested driving off to get a burritoes.
Hey, it's better than nothing. David is a very nice guy. He felt bad for us. I'm Brent's
guest but Brent was off camping in Washington with Bay. Michael is Casey's school
friend who flew in from Ohio to visit and Casey ran off fighting other nutcases.
We were fine but David felt as if we are visitors and should be taken care of,
so he offered to take us to Gordo's, where they have the best burritoes in town. |

While we are driving to Gordo's, which was 5-minute away, David asked if we have
been to Berkeley. I have but Michael hasn't, so we went to Berkeley, got some
mexican food and walked around the uni, got some coffee and walked along
Telegraph Avenue when Casey realized that his guest had disappeared.
Casey had to be in a play that night and Michael is supposed to go to the play.
It's 'As You Like It.' Why didn't he tell me he was doing a Shakespeare?
I would never miss a Shakespeare play, especially when one of my friends
has a part in it. So we all went to the play. |

But it's not that easy. I was going to Santa Cruz with Jordan later that evening.
David had agree to drive us down there. But now we were going to a play.
Jordan already saw it and didn't want to come again. We had to drive to
Casey's place to get the tickets, to Brent's to get my stuff, to the play and to
Casey's again to drop off Michael and then to Jeff's to pick up Jordan before
we could set off to Santa Cruz. Major road trip. |

We eventually got to Jordan's place in Santa Cruz at 2 am. We stopped by at a liquore
store to get some wine and I forgot that the boys are 20. The drinking age in California is 21,
so I had to buy booze for them. It's really funny. They are mature and responsible.
They have jobs and are financially independent. They have had driving license
since 16 but they cannot buy drinks. |

Anyway, when we got there, David would not let us go to bed. He drove us there and
now we should keep him company. So we stayed up and drank all night. Jordan dozed
off and would kill us if we stopped him so David had only me left. We stayed up all
night telling jokes and doing silly things to Jordan while he was asleep. Good night now. |
