กับอักษร O ตอนที่ 5 นี้เป็นเรื่องของรางวัล Oscar ที่แจกให้กับภาพยนตร์ต่าง ๆ
ที่สร้างแล้วนำออกฉายชิงชัยกันในช่วง 60's แล้วนะครับ แต่ก่อนจะว่ากันถึงรางวัลช่วง 60's
ขอเพิ่มเติมส่วนที่ขาดหายในช่วง 50's ไปก่อนด้วย อะไรหายไปตามไปชมกันเลยครับ
เมื่อตอนแจกรางวัล พ.ศ. 2500 (1957) ปีนั้นมีการเพิ่มรางวัลที่น่าสนใจขึ้นมาอีก 1 รางวัลนะครับ
แต่ผมพลาดไม่ได้นำเสนอไป ก็เลยมาว่ากันตอนนี้แทน รางวัลที่ว่านั้นก็คือ
รางวัลภาพยนตร์ภาษาต่างประเทศยอดเยี่ยม (Foreign Language Film)
ซึ่งเป็นความใจกว้างขวางเหลือเกินของวงการภาพยนตร์อเมริกาที่เผื่อแผ่รางวัลภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยมนี้ให้หนังต่างประเทศด้วย
โดยมีข้อแม้ว่า ต้องเป็นการชิงชัยกันระหว่างหนังต่างประเทศเองทั้งสิ้น
ไม่เอาหนังอเมริกันไปเกี่ยวข้องด้วย ซึ่งปรากฏว่า Best Foreign Language Film
เรื่องแรกสุดในประวัติศาสตร์ Oscar ก็คือหนังจาก Italy ที่สร้างออกฉายในปี พ.ศ. 2497 (1954)
เรื่อง La Strada พอปีต่อมา หนัง Italy ก็เข้ามาคว้ารางวัลไปอีกครั้งจากเรื่อง Le Netti di Cabiria
ซึ่งเป็นหนังของปี 2500 (1957) ครั้นปีที่ 3 ที่มีการแจกรางวัลนี้ ปรากฏว่าประเทศอื่น
ไม่ยอมแล้ว ส่งหนังเข้ามาชิงชัยในเรื่องคุณภาพกันมากขึ้น ผลปรากฏว่า พ.ศ. 2502 (1959)
หนังจากฝรั่งเศสเรื่อง Mon oncle คว้ารางวัล Best Foreign Language Film ไปครองได้สำเร็จ
แล้วก็เลยพากันได้ซ้อนเป็นปีที่ 2 จากเรื่อง Orfeu Negro ในปีต่อมาซะด้วยเลย
รางวัล Oscar ประจำปี พ.ศ. 2504 (1961) นี้เป็นการแจกรางวัลให้หนังที่ฉายชิงชัยกันในปี 2503 (1960) นะครับ
ซึ่งปีนี้จัดกันที่ Santa Monica Civic Auditorium ใน Los Angeles เมื่อวันที่ 17 เมษายน โดยมี Bob Hope
รับหน้าที่พิธีกรแต่เพียงผู้เดียว และรางวัลต่าง ๆ นั้นก็แจกให้กับ

 - Best Picture เรื่อง The Apartment ของ Billy Wilder - Best Actor คือ Burt Lancaster จากเรื่อง Elmer Gantry - Best Actress คือ Elizabeth Taylor เรื่อง BUtterfield 8 - Best Supporting Actor คือ Peter Ustinov จาก Spartacus - Best Supporting Actress คือ Shirley Jones (I) จาก Elmer Gantry - Best Director คือ Billy Wilder จาก The Apartment - Best Music, Song คือ Manos Hadjidakis เพลง "Never on Sunday" เรื่อง Pote tin Kyriaki - Best Foreign Language Film คือเรื่อง Jungfrukallan จากประเทศ Sweden
ปีต่อมา พ.ศ. 2505 (1962) จัดงานกันที่เดิม พิธีกรคนเดิม เดือนเดิม
แต่เปลี่ยนวันเป็นวันที่ 9 ผู้เข้ารับรางวัลต่าง ๆ ประกอบไปด้วย
 - Best Picture เรื่อง West Side Story ของ Robert Wise - Best Actor คือ Maximilian Schell จากเรื่อง Judgment at Nuremberg - Best Actress คือ Sophia Loren จากเรื่อง La Ciociara - Best Supporting Actor คือ George Chakiris จาก West Side Story - Best Supporting Actress คือ Rita Moreno จากเรื่องเดียวกัน - Best Director คือ Robert Wise กับ Jerome Robbins จากเรื่อง West Side Story - Best Music, Song คือ Henry Mancini (music) กับ Johnny Mercer (lyrics) เพลง "Moon River" จากเรื่อง Breakfast at Tiffany's - Best Foreign Language Film ยังเป็นประเทศ Sweden จากเรื่อง Sasom i en spegel
ปีต่อมาจัดที่เดิม ช่วงเดิมคือวันที่ 8 แต่เปลี่ยนพิธีกรเป็น Frank Sinatra 
- Best Picture คือเรื่อง Lawrence of Arabia ของ Sam Spiegel- Best Actor คือ Gregory Peck จากเรื่อง To Kill a Mockingbird - Best Actress คือ Anne Bancroft จากเรื่อง The Miracle Worker - Best Supporting Actor คือ Ed Begley จาก Sweet Bird of Youth - Best Supporting Actress คือ Patty Duke จากเรื่อง The Miracle Worker - Best Director คือ David Lean เรื่อง Lawrence of Arabia - Best Music, Song ได้รับติดต่อกันเป็นปีที่ 2 โดย Henry Mancini (music) กับ Johnny Mercer (lyrics) ในเพลง "Days of Wine and Roses" จากหนังชื่อเรื่องเดียวกับเพลง - Best Foreign Language Film คือ Les Dimanches de ville d'Avray จาก France
พอถึงปี 2507 (1964) ก็ยังไม่เปลี่ยนที่จัด
แต่พิธีกรเปลี่ยนเป็น Jack Lemmon จัดงานกันวันสงกรานต์บ้านเราพอดี
- Best Picture คือ Tom Jones ของ Tony Richardson (I)- Best Actor คือ Sidney Poitier จากเรื่อง Lilies of the Field - Best Actress คือ Patricia Neal จากเรื่อง Hud - Best Supporting Actor คือ Melvyn Douglas จากเรื่อง Hud เช่นกัน - Best Supporting Actress คือ Margaret Rutherford จากเรื่อง The V.I.P.s - Best Director คือ Tony Richardson (I) จากเรื่อง Tom Jones - Best Music, Song คือ Jimmy Van Heusen (music) กับ Sammy Cahn (lyrics) เพลง "Call Me Irresponsible" เรื่อง Papa's Delicate Condition - Best Foreign Language Film Film คือ 8 1/2 จาก Italy
ปี 2508 (1965) จัดงานที่เดิมในช่วงเวลาเดิมคือ 5 เมษายน คราวนี้ Bob Hope
ก็ได้กลับมาเป็นพิธีกรอีกครั้งหนึ่ง ซึ่งผู้ได้รับรางวัลต่าง ๆ ประกอบไปด้วย
- Best Picture เรื่อง My Fair Lady ของ Jack L. Warner- Best Actor คือ Rex Harrison จาก My Fair Lady - Best Actress คือ Julie Andrews จากเรื่อง Mary Poppins - Best Supporting Actor คือ Peter Ustinov จากเรื่อง Topkapi - Best Supporting Actress คือ Lila Kedrova จากเรื่อง Alexis Zorbas - Best Director คือ George Cukor จาก My Fair Lady - Best Music, Song คือ Richard M. พ.ศ. 2509 (1966) จัดงานที่เดิม พิธีกรคนเดิม 18 เมษายนช่วงเดิม
แต่เพิ่มการถ่ายทอดออกอากาศแบบมีสีเป็นครั้งแรก (ทุกทีเป็นขาว-ดำ) ผู้ได้รางวัลก็มี

- Best Picture เรื่อง A Man for All Seasons ของ Fred Zinnemann - Best Actor คือ Paul Scofield เรื่องเดียวกัน - Best Actress เป็นครั้งที่ 2 ของ Elizabeth Taylor กับรางวัลนี้จากเรื่อง Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? - Best Supporting Actor คือ Walter Matthau จาก The Fortune Cookie - Best Supporting Actress คือ Sandy Dennis (II) จากเรื่อง Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? - Best Director ผู้กำกับ Fred Zinnemann ได้จากเรื่อง A Man for All Seasons - Best Music, Song เพลงของ John Barry (music) กับ Don Black (I) (lyrics) ชื่อ "Born Free" จากหนังชื่อเดียวกัน - Best Foreign Language Film เรื่อง Un homme et une femme จาก France
ต่อมา พ.ศ. 2511 (1968)
เกิดเหตุการณ์สำคัญที่ทำให้ต้องเลื่อนวันจัดงานจากวันที่ 8 มาเป็น 10 เมษายนนั่นคือ เหตุการณ์การลอบสังหาร

2512 (1969) ปีนี้พิเศษกว่าปีอื่น ๆ
ที่ผ่านมา เพราะประการแรก ย้ายที่จัดงานมาที่ Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, L.A. Music Center
ใน Los Angeles ประการต่อมาคือไม่มีพิธีกร ใช้การประกาศให้ขึ้นไปรับรางวัลเอาเอง
และที่สำคัญประการสุดท้าย ปีนี้เป็นปีแรกที่การประกาศรางวัล มีการถ่ายทอดออกอากาศไปทั่วโลก ซึ่งผู้ได้รางวัลคือ
- Best Picture เรื่อง Oliver! ของ John Woolf - Best Actor คือ Cliff Robertson จากเรื่อง Charly - Best Actress เป็นของ Barbra Streisand จากหนังเรื่องแรกของเธอ Funny Girl - Best Supporting Actor คือ Jack Albertson จาก The Subject Was Roses - Best Supporting Actress คือ Ruth Gordon จากเรื่อง Rosemary's Baby - Best Director แน่นอนคือ Carol Reed จาก Oliver! - Best Music, Song ผลงานของ Michel Legrand (music); Alan Bergman (I) (lyrics)กับ Marilyn Bergman (lyrics) ในเพลง "The Windmills of Your Mind" จากเรื่อง The Thomas Crown Affair - Best Foreign Language Film คือ Vojna i mir III: 1812 god จาก Russia
แล้วก็มาถึงปีสุดท้ายในช่วง 60's คือการประกาศผลรางวัลของภาพยนตร์ที่ฉาย
ในปี พ.ศ.2513 (1970) จัดงานวันที่ 7 เมษายน ที่เดิมโดยไม่มีพิธีกร
- Best Picture เป็นประวัติการณ์เพราะเรื่อง Midnight Cowboy ของ Jerome Hellman เป็นหนัง Rate R เรื่องแรกและเรื่องเดียวที่ได้รางวัลภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยม- Best Actor คือคุณคาวบอย John Wayne จากเรื่อง True Grit - Best Actress คือ Maggie Smith จาก The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie - Best Supporting Actor คือ Gig Young จาก They Shoot Horses, Don't They? - Best Supporting Actress คือ Goldie Hawn จาก Cactus Flower - Best Director คือ John Schlesinger จาก Midnight Cowboy - Best Music, Song คืองานของ Burt Bacharach (music) กับ Hal David (II) (lyrics)ชื่อเพลง "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" จากเรื่อง Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid - Best Foreign Language Film คือ Z จาก Algeria
ที่จริงแล้วหนังที่เข้าชิงทั้งหลายก็น่าสนใจไม่แพ้หนังที่ได้รางวัล
แต่ครั้นจะเอามาสาธยายซะหมดทุกเรื่องก็ออกจะมากไปนิดนึง
เอาแค่พอสังเขปอย่างนี้ไปก็แล้วกันนะครับ และอย่างที่บอกแหละ
ใครสนใจอยากได้อยากรู้มากไปกว่านี้ก็บอกกับคุณ บ.ก. เขามาแล้วกัน
