สวัสดีครับ ช่วงนี้
Alphabetize
ของเราจะยังเป็นเรื่องของรางวัล Oscar ไปอีกเรื่อย ๆ เพราะผู้ที่ติดต่อเข้ามา
(ทางตรงแบบไม่ผ่าน bkkonline) ล้วนระบุมาว่าอยากได้รางวัลของทุกปีที่เคยจัด
เพราะสนใจเรื่องหนังต่างชาติ (โดยเฉพาะฝรั่งอเมริกา)
ไม่รู้เหมือนกันว่าจะเอาไปทำวิทยานิพนธ์หรืออย่างไร แต่ที่แน่ ๆ ก็คือ
จะทยอยลงให้ไปจนหมด เพื่อไม่ต้องคิดเรื่องใหม่ของอักษรต่อไปสักระยะ!!!
ซึ่ง 2 ตอนที่แล้วว่ากันตั้งแต่เริ่มแรกไปจนถึงปี พ.ศ. 2479 (1936)
ตอนนี้เราก็จะต่อที่ พ.ศ. 2480 (1937) กันเลยครับ
รางวัล Oscar ที่แจกกันในปี พ.ศ. 2480 (1937)
นี้จะเป็นปีแรกที่มีการเพิ่มรางวัลสำหรับผู้แสดงสมทบเข้าไปด้วย คือรางวัล Best Supporting Actor
และ Actress ซึ่งถือว่าเป็นรางวัลสำคัญสำหรับนักแสดงด้วยเช่นกัน เพราะหนังเรื่องหนึ่ง
มันจะมามีดารานำกันได้ซักกี่คน เพราะงั้นจึงต้องเปิดโอกาสให้ดาราเก่ง ๆ
ที่ไม่ได้รับบทนำเขาได้รางวัลกันบ้าง
ปีนี้งานจัดขึ้นในวันที่ 4 มีนาคม ที่ Biltmore Bowl
ในโรงแรม Biltmore อีกแล้ว โดยมี George Jessel เป็นพิธีกร ที่จริงงานจะจัดก่อนนี้ 1 สัปดาห์
แต่เกิดฝนตกหนัก กลัวว่าจะไม่สะดวกสำหรับผู้ที่จะมาร่วมงาน ก็เลยเลื่อนมาจัดวันที่ว่านี้แหละครับ
สำหรับผู้ที่ได้รางวัลต่าง ๆ ก็จะประกอบไปด้วย..
- Best Picture เรื่อง The Great Ziegfeld (2479) ของ Hunt Stromberg - Best Actor คือ Paul Muni จากเรื่อง The Story of Louis Pasteur (2479) - Best Actress คือ Luise Rainer จากเรื่อง The Great Ziegfeld เช่นกัน - Best Supporting Actor คนแรกที่ได้รางวัลคือ Walter Brennan จากเรื่อง Come and Get It (2479) - Best Supporting Actress คนแรกเช่นกันคือ Gale Sondergaard จากเรื่อง Anthony Adverse (2479) - Best Director คือ Frank Capra จากเรื่อง Mr. Deeds Goes to Town (2479) - Best Music, Song คือ Jerome Kern (music) และ Dorothy Fields (lyrics) จากเพลง "The Way You Look Tonight" ในเรื่อง Swing Time (2479)
และแน่นอน มีรางวัลเกียรติยศที่มอบให้เป็นพิเศษสำหรับการบุกเบิกเทคนิคอย่างนั้นอย่างนี้
ซึ่งเดี๋ยวนี้กลายเป็นเรื่องปกติไปแล้ว แต่ตอนโน้นใครคิดอะไรแปลก ๆ เก๋ ๆ ที่ทำยาก ๆ
ขึ้นมาเป็นต้องได้รางวัลทั้งนั้น ซึ่งจะขอไม่กล่าวถึง (เพราะเยอะ)
ปีต่อมา พ.ศ. 2481 (1938) เห็นว่าช่วงมีนาคมนี่ท่าทางจะเป็นช่วงเหมาะ
เลยจัดงานกันวันที่ 10 มีนาคมที่โรงแรมเดิม มี Bob Burns เป็นพิธีกร ผู้ได้รางวัลก็มี..
- Best Picture เรื่อง The Life of ?mile Zola (2480) ของ Henry Blanke - Best Actor คือ Spencer Tracy จากเรื่อง Captains Courageous (2480) - Best Actress คือ Luise Rainer จากเรื่อง The Good Earth (2480) - Best Supporting Actor คือ Joseph Schildkraut จากเรื่อง The Life of ?mile Zola - Best Supporting Actress คือ Alice Brady จากเรื่อง In Old Chicago (2480) - Best Director คือ Leo McCarey จากเรื่อง The Awful Truth (2480) - Best Music, Song คือ Harry Owens จากเพลง "Sweet Leilani" ในเรื่อง Waikiki Wedding (2480)
ตอนแรกที่มีวงเล็บปีไว้ท้ายเรื่องนั้น เป็นเพราะช่วงปีแรก ๆ
ที่จัดงานกัน เขาพิจารณาคัดเลือกจากหนังที่ฉายควบ 2 ปี ก็เลยต้องมีวงเล็บปี
แต่นับจากนี้จะไม่มีแล้วนะครับ เพราะจัดงานปีนี้ก็จะเลือกจากหนังปีที่แล้วทั้งสิ้น
เอาเป็นว่าเข้าใจกันตามนี้ก็แล้วกันครับ
พ.ศ. 2482 (แจกรางวัลให้หนังปี 2481) มีการตัดรางวัลออก 2 รางวัล
คือรางวัลผู้ช่วยผู้กำกับการแสดงและรางวัลผู้ออกแบบท่าเต้น (แต่เดิมมีมาตลอดตั้งแต่ปีแรกแล้ว)
ปีนี้จัดงานที่เดิม วันที่ 23 กุมภาพันธ์ โดยผู้สร้าง-ผู้กำกับ Frank Capra กลับมารับหน้าที่พิธีกร
และถือโอกาสนี้รับรางวัลใหญ่ไปด้วยคือ..
 - Best Picture เรื่อง You Can't Take It with You ของ Frank Capra 
- Best Actor คือ Spencer Tracy จาก Boys Town - Best Actress คือ Bette Davis จาก Jezebel - Best Supporting Actor คือ Walter Brennan จาก Kentucky - Best Supporting Actress คือ Fay Bainter จาก Jezebel - Best Director คนเดียวกันเรื่องเดียวกันกับ Best Picture - Best Music, Song คือ Ralph Rainger (music); Leo Robin (lyrics) เพลง "Thanks for the Memory" เรื่อง The Big Broadcast of 1938
2483 (1940) ปีนี้มีการเพิ่มรางวัล Special Effects เข้ามาด้วย
ย้ายที่จัดงานไปจัดที่ Cocoanut Grove โรงแรม Ambassador ใน Los Angeles โดยมี Bob Hope
เป็นพิธีกรในช่วงท้าย แต่ช่วงแรกไม่ได้บอกไว้ว่าเป็นใครหรือมีพิธีกรหรือเปล่า ผู้ได้รางวัลคือ.. - Best Picture เรื่อง Gone with the Wind ของ David O. Selznick - Best Actor คือ Robert Donat จาก Mr. Chips Goodbye - Best Actress คือ Vivien Leigh จาก Gone with the Wind - Best Supporting Actor คือ Thomas Mitchell (I) จาก Stagecoach - Best Supporting Actress คือ Hattie McDaniel จาก Gone with the Wind - Best Director คือ Victor Fleming จาก Gone with the Wind - Best Music, Song คือ Harold Arlen (music) และ E.Y. โรงแรม Biltmore เมื่อวันที่ 27 กุมภาพันธ์ โดยมอบหน้าที่พิธีกรให้ Walter Wanger
- Best Picture คือเรื่อง Rebecca ของ David O. Selznick - Best Actor คือ James Stewart จาก The Philadelphia Story - Best Actress คือ Ginger Rogers จาก Kitty Foyle - Best Supporting Actor คือ Walter Brennan จาก The Westerner - Best Supporting Actress คือ Jane Darwell จาก The Grapes of Wrath - Best Director คือ John Ford จาก The Grapes of Wrath - Best Music, Song คือ Leigh Harline (music) และ Ned Washington (lyrics) เพลง "When You Wish Upon a Star" เรื่อง Pinocchio
ต่อมาปี พ.ศ. 2485 (1942) ปีนี้มีเพิ่มรางวัล Best Documentary
ซึ่งเป็นหนังบันทึกเหตุการณ์ประมาณเรื่องราวที่เกิดขึ้นจริงมาแล้วทั้งในอดีตอันไกลและค่อนข้างใกล้
จัดงานที่เดิม วันที่ 26 กุมภาพันธ์ พิธีกรคือ Wendell Wilde
- Best Picture เรื่อง How Green Was My Valley ของ Darryl F. นี้ไม่มีพิธีกร (ไม่รู้เหมือนกันว่าเพราะอะไร ใรบันทึกไม่ได้บอกไว้)
